Diastasis Rectus Abdominus

What is it?
A separation of the abdominal muscles into the right and left halves via a stretching and thinning of the linea alba.

Linea Alba is fibrous connective tissue down the midline of the abdomen that provides an attachment point for the right and left abdominal muscles. As it stretches, it becomes thinner can lead to bulging along the anterior abdominal wall.

Treatment:
• Restoring function to the spine, pelvis, hips
• Release myofascia
• Pelvic floor muscle optimization
• Restore coordination of the core through functional exercise progression
• Avoid aggravating movements (specific to each person)
